Housecall for Health: Cardiac Arrest Risk In Young People
Cardiac arrest is not generally attributed with young people, but according to a new study the risk is more common than previously thought.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon has more in today’s edition of Housecall For Health:
Most think that the risk of cardiac arrest in young people is slim to none, but a new study show it may be more common than experts thought.
Thirty years of data from King County in Washington find the rate of cardiac arrest among children and young adults is more than two per 100,000 each year.
Those numbers are not a huge risk, but still much higher than the previous and widely accepted estimate.
The good news? Results show the survival rate is on the rise.
