Pediatricians: Circumcision Benefits Outweigh Risks
A change from a pediatricians group, coming out in favor of circumcision.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
Baby boys are better off being circumcised. The American Academy of Pediatrics now saying the benefits outweigh the risks, though acknowledging it’s still up to the parents.
Among the cited benefits, lowered risk of getting an STD, something critics question, adding it hurts the baby. Some going so far as to call it genital mutilation. Activists even tried to ban circumcision in San Francisco.
The pediatricians’ recommendation also urges insurance companies to cover the procedure and more pain relief for the little boys.
