Housecall for Health: Working Out Less
Some head-scratching news for gym rats: If you’re looking to lose weight and get in shape, the secret to dropping those pounds may not be in the amount of time you spend on the treadmill.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:
New research suggests spending more time at the gym might not increase weight loss. A study from the University of Copenhagen found that those who spent 30 minutes at the gym daily lost just as much weight as those who spend an hour a day exercising.
Researchers were surprised by the results and plan to conduct further studies. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week.
