Rain Delay: RNC on Hold for Isaac [VIDEO]
All the planning and preparation for the Republican National Convention is taking a backseat to the planning and preparation for some tropical weather, as Isaac moves off the Florida Gulf coast. The GOP Convention will open Monday, as planned, but only very briefly.
FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper is at the RNC in Tampa:
A new schedule in store here at the RNC because of the storm hitting Florida. The Convention will be opened, but immediately adjourn until Tuesday.
Florida Governor Rick Scott says as the bad weather approaches us here in Tampa…
(Gov. Scott) “We’ve also asked locals to minimize travel, but we are going to have…I’m very hopeful that the RNC will have a great convention.”
If the weather threatens the safety of protesters or tourists walking around, police officers will use public address systems to warn them to take cover.

There has been a lot of work put into getting the city ready for the convention, and that includes security measures at government office buildings. Security sweeps, metal detectors and bomb-sniffing dogs aren’t all that’s in the security protocol, however.
