OH Man Arrested With Gun, Knives at Movie Theater
Less than a month after a gunman killed 12 people at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater, a police officer working at a theater in Ohio makes an alarming find that leads officials to not only file charges, but make a plea to the public.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:
The officer, noticing a suspicious satchel on the hip of 37 year-old Scott Smith at a Westlake, Ohio theater Saturday, showing “The Dark Knight Rises.” Inside that bag:
(Arcuri) “A Glock 9mm pistol, two extra magazines and three knives. He also had another knife in his pants pocket.”
Westlake Police Det. Lt. Ray Arcuri says Smith claims to have no sinister intentions.
(Arcuri) “He kind of hinted that it was for his protection or the protection of innocent people, but we’re not buying that.”
And even if it was, Arcuri asks that no one else do the same.
(Arcuri) “That’s our role, uniformed policemen. We don’t need vigilantes out there trying to protect people, if that’s what he’s trying to claim.”
Smith, arrested without incident, now facing weapons charges.

Editor’s note: Authorities said a search of Smith’s home turned up six more pistols, roughly a dozen rifles and shotguns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
