Housecall for Health: West Nile on the Rise

You may notice more mosquitoes buzzing around this year, and you can thank Mother Nature for that.  And not only are they annoying and itchy, but they can be deadly.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

U.S. health officials say the combination of hot weather and stagnant water in the U.S. is creating perfect conditions for breeding mosquitoes – and the spread of West Nile Virus.  Friday, a Dallas mother of four became the city’s third resident to die from the infection.  Nationally, there are early reports of higher rates of infected mosquitoes.

Experts recommend wearing insect repellent and draining standing water to eliminate their habitat.
