FOX on Tech: Google’s Faster Internet
A plan for a faster internet has been introduced by a giant in technology.
FOX News Radio’s Ron Flatter has the story in this FOX on Tech report:
FOX on Tech.
You think the internet has made progress? Google executives say not so fast.
(Pichette) “The average American today has roughly 5.8 megabits of speed and pays roughly, on a unit-cost basis, the same thing as 15 years ago.”
Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette says that’s the reason for Google Fiber.
(Medin) “It’s internet 100 times faster than what most Americans have today.”
Google Vice President Milo Medin.
But for how much? Seventy dollars a month is the roll-out price in Kansas City, the first city getting the service. Now if that’s too pricey, Google is offering slower internet at a one-time cost of $300 with no monthly fee.
