Housecall for Health: A Bigger Baby May Mean A Bigger Cancer Risk
Woman who deliver bigger babies may be at a higher risk for breast cancer, according to new research.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:
A new study finds women who deliver babies with a high birth weight are at more than double the risk for developing breast cancer.
Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch analyzed two large studies and found that the risk was associated with moms whose newborn babies weighed 8.25 pounds or more.
Scientists believe the reason may be the specific levels of certain hormones larger infants cause during pregnancy. But, a healthy lifestyle can help reduce the risk.
