Pentagon Creates New Spy Agency

The Pentagon already has eight separate intelligence agencies within it, but it’s about to get one more.

FOX News Radio’s Mike Majchrowitz reports from the White House:

As the lines between military intelligence and that done by the CIA continue to blur, the Pentagon is reorganizing to get more involved in good old fashioned espionage. The new Defense Clandestine Service is designed to gather secrets beyond the current battlefields and look at more strategic threats.

(Kirby) “We’re very very very proficient at the technical side of intelligence collection, and I think this will help us get a little bit better at the human intelligence effort.”

Pentagon Spokesman Captain John Kirby says this will help integrate the military’s intelligence efforts with that of the rest of the intelligence community.
