Securing America: FBI Director Warns Against Cyber Attacks

While not mentioning countries by name, FBI Director Robert Mueller says cyber threat is one of the most serious facing the U.S. with a sharp increase in the number of attacks.

It’s called the cyber 1-2 punch. A country like Iran or a terrorist organization first steals intellectual property, then that information is used to interfere a jam or disrupt operations on the battlefield. Here is FBI Director Robert Mueller…

(Mueller) “Certainly long term threat is by nation states who are finding new and ingenious ways to exfiltrate information that will give them a jump ahead in terms of developing.”

Only an hour after the FBI Director was on the Hill, top administration officials held a secret briefing for the Senate to explain how the administration would respond to major cyber event.
