Super Tuesday: Recapping the Winners
Voters in 10 states have gone to the polls and cast their ballots for their choice in the GOP Presidential race, and Super Tuesday has seen a wide variety of results for the four candidates.
Mitt Romney
The former Massachusetts Governor easily won his home state, which has a total of 38 delegates available that are divided based on a proportion of the total vote. Romney also picked up wins in Vermont (17 delegates, a mix of 3 decided based on Congressional districts & 14 at-large delegates that are based on total vote), Idaho (32 delegates, all at-large) and Virginia (46 delegates, 33 based on the state’s Congressional districts & 13 at-large based on overall vote). There was less competition for Romney in Virginia, where Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich were not on the ballot. Romney also recorded a close win in Ohio over Santorum.
