Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody joins Fox Across America With guest host Jason Chaffetz to share her initial reaction to the Department of Justice’s unsealed federal indictment against former President Trump, which includes 37 criminal counts related to his retention of classified documents after leaving office.
“I think that what I demanded this morning so that we weren’t, you know, in any way left with the impression that you have a DOJ that has been weaponized to go after a leading presidential contender is that Merrick Garland and his attorneys indeed start speaking and conversing with the American public to assure them, reassure them that we have institutions of integrity. And so I think what we would call a speaking indictment, a speaking charging document, was absolutely necessary. And from my initial review, it is 49 pages long, it does it does appear to me, as a former federal prosecutor, to be more detailed than the normal federal indictment. So, you know, I have not had a chance to go through what they believe is going to support all of these charges, as many have not as it was just unsealed. But, you know, it has been shocking to me that we have not seen more from this DOJ and certainly Merrick Garland and talking to the American public and in some way assuring them that this is not some kind of Game of Thrones, which I know that the Trump team and many that support President Trump because of the lack of communication from our government has felt for a long time now.”
