Housecall for Health: Going Gluten-Free a Risky Move?

Is one of the latest health fads actually a health risk?  Cutting the gluten out of your diet when you don’t have to might not be the healthiest way to lose weight.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon explains in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Going gluten-free is a hot trend in nutrition, but some say hopping on the bandwagon if you don’t need to is a bad idea.  Those who suffer from an allergy to gluten, known as Celiac Disease, have medical reason to cut out foods like bread, beer and sweets.

But experts from the Annals of Internal Medicine warn that skipping out on gluten just to lose weight or boost energy could cause nutritional deficiencies.  They say talk to your doctor to find out if you’re sensitive to gluten.
