The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling certain playground slides sold nationwide to schools and other facilities between January of 2006 and December of 2011 due to injuries.

FOX News Radio’s Sal Giangrasso has details:

The happy sounds of children playing on a slide, but now the Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling one particular brand of slide sold to schools and other playground areas nationwide over the past five years because at least 16 kids were injured in falls while playing on them.

The Slalom Glider made by Landscape Structures of Delano, Minnesota lacks a transition platform on the top and sides of the chute, causing some children to fall when moving from the ladder to the slide.

Injuries to kids younger than eight, include: 14 fractures of arms and legs, a fractured collar bone and bruises.
