Lead in Lipstick: Should You Be Concerned?
Could lipstick be hazardous to your health? The FDA found that many lipsticks out there test positive for lead.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka has the details:
Watch how you handle those lips, you may be sharing more than a kiss.
A study conducted by the FDA finds that 400 lipsticks on the market test positive for lead.
Maybelline Color Sensation by L’Oreal is the worst-offender. It contains more than 275 times the amount of lead that was found in the least-contaminated lipstick.
The FDA says there’s no cause for alarm. Saying, “No level of lead that was found raises health concerns.”
That’s not what the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics believes. They say “There is no safe level of lead exposure.”
