Study: Doctors Not Always Honest With Patients

    The place to get the lowdown on your medical condition may not be the doctor’s office according to a study led by the Mongan Institute for Health Policy at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

    FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka has details:

    The truth, is what we don’t get from the doctor.

    According to a new study 11% of doctors say that in the past year, they have not been honest with a patient or with the guardian of a patient.

    They lie because they don’t want to upset people, or cause them to lose hope.

    But about 20% say they didnt tell the whole story because they made a mistake and feared a lawsuit.

    Beyond that 34% say they don’t tell the truth because they’re not sure that they have to.
