Micron Chief Dies in Plane Crash

A leading high-tech executive was killed Friday in a plane crash.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom reports:

Steve Appleton, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Micron Technology and an avid pilot, was flying an experimental fixed wing plane.  It crashed in Boise, Idaho.  Appleton was killed.  He was 51 years old.  It wasn’t his first crash.  He was seriously injured in a stunt plane crash in 2004 and that raised questions about whether top corporate executives should engage in risky hobbies.  Micron is a world leader in semi-conductors.  In a statement, the Board of Directors said Steve Appleton’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on the company.
