Jason Rantz Explains Crazy Seattle Police Policy That Lets DUI Suspects Off The Hook

Listen To The Full Interview Below:

Jason Rantz, Host of the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH 770AM/94.5 FM in Seattle/Tacoma joined the Guy Benson Show to explain a policy by the Seattle police that seemly allows drivers suspected of DUI to flee without being chased.

Jason explained the policy saying,

“Now there’s a draft policy that I’m told from multiple sources that is already being implemented, actually, but it basically tells officers that they have to give a pass to DUI suspects. So on the one hand, you’re no longer allowed to use the maneuver called pinning, which is just basically parking your vehicle, your patrol car within an inch of the DUI suspect, making it hard for them to just drive off. Now you have to give a car’s length on top of that, if the person you reasonably suspect to be DUI, even if they’re in a stolen car and they just speed away, you are not to chase them. If you find someone who’s in a car that is running, dude is passed out with a needle sticking out of his arm and let’s just throw it in. It’s a stolen car. You can try to wake him up verbally, but if he doesn’t wake up, you’re supposed to just leave. This is the world in which we now live in.”
