A Growing Threat From China Hitting Close To Home
China’s ownership of American farmland is growing, as well as concerns that the purchases could pose a national security threat to the U.S. China recently acquired farmland near North Dakota’s Grand Forks Air Force Base, leading many to worry that the proximity could allow China to gain access to confidential American military secrets. Congressman Dusty Johnson (R-SD) joins the Rundown to discuss why he’s concerned that the purchases could lead to American dependency on China, why he believes the Inflation Reduction Act will be harmful for consumers, and his reaction to the FBI’s raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
With a warrant, FBI agents searched former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday night, acting on part of an investigation into whether Trump possesses classified White House documents. Former President Trump called this an “unannounced raid” as federal agents entered his Florida residence where he says they broke into his safe. This marks the first time a former president has been searched by law enforcement, and many are looking to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and his Department of Justice to explain what warranted this. Former Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and FOX News Contributor Andy McCarthy joins the Rundown to discuss what may have caused this search and why the DOJ should justify its actions soon.
