Dave Landau: 95 Percent Of People Who Claim To Be Offended By Jokes Are Doing It As A Social Currency
Comedian Dave Landau joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on the efforts by some Left-wing activists to cancel anyone who does or says something they find offensive.
“Realistically, if everything you’ve ever said was recorded or said on a podcast you’ve ever done, the reality is it would just turn out that you’re human and you’re just like everyone else. Everybody who claims to be offended and has done anything has said something terrible, done something terrible, done something behind closed doors. Like everyone wears a mask in public, not just the ones that are blue because you’re afraid all the time and you’re afraid of air, but because everybody has to put on a certain face. But everybody makes mistakes. I’ve made grand mistakes, probably more than most. Most of what I’ve said may have put me in jail in certain countries, sure. But the fact that we judge people this way now is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. And it’s gone so far that I don’t care. I no longer care what I say on stage.”
Plus, Dave and Jimmy discuss a recent piece published in The Huffington Post titled, ‘Does Stand-Up Comedy Still Have The ‘Right To Offend?’. To hear what else he had to say, listen to the podcast!
