Devine laid out her reporting by saying,

“Yes. Well, look, we’re really seeing a situation where the empire is fighting back. Hunter Biden, his allies, particularly someone a very wealthy entertainment lawyer called Kevin Maurice in L.A. who made all this money with the South Park guys. He’s become Hunter’s new best friend, or as Hunter’s other friends call him, Hunter’s sugar brother. He’s paid off more than $2 million of his unpaid taxes to help him out of the hole that he’s in with that Delaware investigation. And he’s also apparently paying for his $20,000 a month rent on his Malibu house. So he’s also put together this war room of about 30 investigators and lawyers to try to flip the script on the laptop.”
