Pandas on a Plane: UK Gets First Pandas in Nearly 20 Years

For the first time in nearly two decades, the UK is home to pandas.  The pair arrived via a large air-mail delivery on specially chartered flight from China.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster reports:

Sunshine and Sweetie, arriving in Edinburgh, Scotland to hopefully breed and live at the zoo for 10 years.

(Sturgeon) “They’re incredibly cute, they’re fantastic.  And I think, you know, the conservation issues are really important, as well.  And for Scotland to be playing a part in the conservation of this great species is really exciting.”

…Scotland’s Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

(Sturgeon) “It’s a great accolade for Scotland, for Edinburgh Zoo, and a sign of the strength in the relationship between Scotland and China.”

White rhinos and penguins were on the flight from China, too.
