Big Stores Pull Eggs After Supplier Caught in Abuse Video
A big egg producer – to the tune of 300,000,00o eggs a year – is seeing its product pulled from another large company after it’s caught on tape abusing animals.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster has details:
Target now joining McDonald’s dropping Sparboe Farms as an egg supplier over an animal rights’ group’s undercover video of abuse.
Workers at plants in Iowa, Minnesota and Colorado packing hens into cramped cages, suffocating chicks in plastic bags or cutting off their beaks. One worker seen swinging a bird around by its feet.
Sparboe, in a statement, calling the video shocking and disturbing, saying it’ll create a task force to review the company’s animal care and safety procedures.
