“Occupy” Crackdown [VIDEO]
New York City police, some in riot gear, moved in on the heart of the anti-Wall Street protests, Zuccotti Park early Tuesday. Dozens were arrested as NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered the Lower Manhattan park cleared and cleaned due to health and safety concerns.
Now, a NYC Judge has ruled that the protesters can return to the park, but without tents, sleeping bags and other overnight gear. The ruling states the demonstrators First Amendment rights don’t entitle them to camp out indefinitely, but they are still allowed to peacefully assemble to protest.
