Prolonged Sitting May Increase Risk of Certain Cancers

The key to fighting cancer could be remaining active.

FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka explains:

One way to fight cancer; get off your butt.  Sitting can multiply the risk of developing cancer.  A report presented at the American Institute for Cancer Research suggests that about 100,000 new cases of breast cancer and colon cancer each year can be linked to physical inactivity and sitting.  Even a short shot of light activity; standing up often and walking for as little as a minute at a time can reduce the cancer risk.  There is also some evidence that regular exercise also cuts the risk of lung, prostate, and ovarian cancer.
