President Biden addressed the nation from the White House on Monday, saying he stands by his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan. While the President did admit that the fall of the country was quicker than expected, he blamed the Afghanistan government for allowing the Taliban to take over. Over the weekend Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani fled the region followed by the Taliban seizing control of the capital of Kabul leaving the world in shock. FOX News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy discusses the White House’s handling of the crisis and how we got here. We also get reaction on if America’s longest war was in vain from retired U.S. Marine and host of the Proud American podcast, Johnny Joey Jones, who served in Afghanistan.
Last week, the Census Bureau released new data demonstrating how the U.S. population and demographics are changing dramatically. Democrats still control both the House of Representatives and the Senate and the new census data contains information that could have major political consequences with the midterm elections fast approaching. One key takeaway from the Census Bureau’s report shows the country’s white population decreased nearly 9 percent in the last 10 years while the population of Latino and Asian Americans increased by about 23 and 35 percent respectively. These population shifts can change how states draw their redistricting lines in coming elections, which party will pick up more congressional seats, and what voter demographics make up each state. Director of the Fox News Decision Desk Arnon Mishkin joins to explain how the new census data will impact redistricting, why Republicans are likely to regain the House in the 2022 midterm elections and why shifting demographics will impact the country both politically and economically.
Plus, commentary by former Rep. Jason Chaffetz, host of the Jason in the House podcast.
