Housecall for Health: Glucose Tests

If you are to take a glucose test anytime soon, don’t be surprised if the Doctor instructs you to eat a treat.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon has more on this developing method of testing in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Doctors are developing a new way to diagnose Type 2 Diabetes that for patients could be as simple as eating a muffin.

Routine oral glucose tests include fasting overnight, and consuming a sugary solution to see how the body reacts.  Study authors from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York hope that testing with actual food; like a muffin, would give more accurate results and make the test more pleasant for patients.
