Evening Edition: Lebanon Continues To Teeter Towards Failure
Lebanon has battled a serious of tragedies in recent years that has sent the country into an economic and social collapse. Disasters including the blast in Beirut that has crippled manufacturing and displaced hundreds of thousands of people, the COVID-19 pandemic and political corruption coupled with overall failure of government leadership all have the Lebanese people wondering who will help them. There are also fears that militant groups, like Hezbollah, could be growing their influence there amidst the troubles. FOX’s Trey Yingst speaks with Bujar Hoxha, Country Director for CARE International in Lebanon, about the seriousness of Lebanon’s decline and a new short film that tries to draw attention to the people most in need.
