Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC): We Can’t Go Back To The Republican Party That Was Just About Elites
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) talks about the split in the Republican Party and why the GOP has the better ideas that appeal to voters.
“We got some major work to do here in the Republican Party. You’re going to see a lot happening this week when we deal with those who’ve worked against other Republicans. We’ve got a major agenda. We’ve got an agenda that works. And we’re seeing the radical left, we’re seeing bad decisions. They talk about unity, but then they do dumb things like vaccinating, before they vaccinate teachers, before they vaccinate first responders, They want to do Gitmo. And we’re just seeing them trip over themselves with bad, bad ideas and bad decisions, one right after the other.
“We can’t go back to four or five years ago to the old school Republican Party that was just about the elites. When you look at Wyoming, 70 percent of Wyoming voted for Trump. And then just a month or two after the election, you get the Congresswoman-at-large, voting to impeach. You’ve got two hundred and twelve Republicans and there was only ten of them that voted to impeach. Anybody on any party can vote their conscience. I get that. That’s fine. And anyone has a right to do that. But when you do it as the chair of the conference, that’s really not leadership, that’s going rogue. And it’s certainly not the team player that they ask us to be. So I think it’s rather duplicitous and it’s very concerning to me. And it’s certainly worthy of certainly worthy of discussion.”
