FOX in the Fast Lane: AAA 400 (Dover)

Drivers take on the “Monster Mile,” the Dover International Speedway, on week 3 of the Chase and the AAA 400, while a practice run ends badly for one NASCAR wife and Denny Hamlin gets his head together.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee “Trackside” Teshineh has this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:

CARL EDWARDS SAYS THERE IS A REASON THEY CALL DOVER “THE MONSTER MILE”…

“DOVER IS A VERY VERY  TOUGH RACE TRACK. THERE IS NOWHERE TO HIDE AT DOVER  IF THERE IS A WRECK.”

KEVIN HARVICK AGREES…

“DOVER IS A RACE TRACK WHERE IF YOU HIT SOMETHING YOU’RE PROBABLY DONE FOR THE DAY.”

FOR DENNY HAMLIN, DOVER IS A TRACK WHERE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN…

“DOVER IS MY WILDCARD BECAUSE  IT’S MY WORST RACETRACK. YOU KNOW, IF I GET OUT THERE WITH A TOP FIFTEEN I’M HIGH FIVING THE GUYS LIKE WE WON THE RACE.”

BUT FOR JIMMIE JOHNSON…

“I LOOK AT  DOVER AS A HUGE OPPORTUNITY. IT’S BEEN A GREAT TRACK FOR ME OVER THE YEARS. WE’VE WON A LOT OF CHASE RACES THERE.  IT’S MY FAVORITE RACETRACK.”

KATIE KENSETH, WIFE OF DRIVER MATT KENSETH, RECOVERING AFTER BREAKING HER SHOULDER BLADE THIS WEEK IN A CRASH DURING A PRACTICE FOR A CHARITY RACE SHE’LL BE PARTICIPATING IN NEXT MONTH AT CHARLOTTE.

AND DENNY HAMLIN SAYS HE’S GLAD HE’S WORKING WITH A WELL-KNOWN SPORTS PSYCHOLOGIST TO HELP IMPROVE HIS ATTITUDE AND OUTLOOK -  ESPECIALLY AFTER LAST’S YEAR DISAPPOINTING END TO THE CHASE.
