Brian Morgenstern: Amy Coney Barrett Is Being “Attacked By Some Very Sick People”
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Deputy White House Press Secretary Brian Morgenstern described his meeting with Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and discussed the rumors of Joe Biden asking for breaks during the first Presidential debate.
“They had a very gracious visit with the President and the Vice president. And I had a chance to meet the Judge and just let her know that I’m going to be defending her and sticking up for her because she’s an outstanding nominee. She’s being attacked by some very sick people. She is a devoted mom from the heartland, outstanding academic record, outstanding professional record. So really just a joy to be on her team and on her side, and stick up for her nomination. I did have a chance to meet her briefly and it was a great honor. And looking forward to making her the next justice on the Supreme Court.”
“He does a lot of big events where he speaks for a long time and I think that his speechwriters, who of course love the President, but his speechwriters would probably appreciate it if he would stay on the teleprompter more than he does, though. But think about that break situation, ninety minutes. Let’s say he takes five minutes off every thirty minutes, fifteen minutes out of 90 minutes. It’s not very long to make your case to the American people. And you’re already trying to make it shorter. That is a little suspect.”
