Rep. Thomas Massie: Compared To The Government, “The Mafia Is A Light Touch”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) talks about what he was trying to expose about Washington in HBO’s The Swamp and explains what really bothers him about what happens behind the scenes.

“A billion went to dead people, like one-point-four billion dollars of checks that went to dead people. But that doesn’t bother me as much as the cronyism, the money where the Fed gets five hundred billion and they’re allowed to leverage it ten-to-one to hand out five trillion to buddies. And they let these money managers and hedge funds folks do that. The Fed can take equity positions in stocks? I mean, how do you compete with that? If you’re an individual trying to invest in the future and the Fed, who controls the interest rate, gets to buy stocks and sell them before you can and knowing when they’re going to change the interest rate? The Mafia is a light touch compared to what the government’s doing.”
