FOX in the Fast Lane: Advocare 500 (Atlanta)

NASCAR goes to Atlanta this Labor Day Weekend for the Advocare 500, while Kentucky Speedway is getting more parking and Jimmie Johnson will be Washington-bound.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee “Trackside” Teshineh has this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:

NEXT UP ON THE NASCAR SCHEDULE, THE ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAYA TRACK KEVIN HARVICK DISLIKES:

“ATLANTA IN ITSELF DOESN’T DO ANYTHING FOR US PERFORMANCE WISE BECAUSE IT’S SO SLICK AND SO WORN OUT, IT’S KINDA ITS OWN BEAST.”

BUT CARL EDWARDS FEELS THIS TRACK IS IMPORTANT FOR DRIVERS BECAUSE:

“WELL ATLANTA IS ALWAYS REALLY SPECIAL TO ME AND OUR TEAM WE’VE RUN WELL THERE… WE’VE HAD A LOT OF GREAT DAYS THERE…BUT IT IS AN INDICATOR ON HOW YOU’RE GOING TO DO ON THE MILE AND HALFS AFTER THAT.”

KENTUCKY’S GOVERNOR SAYS THE STATE WILL MAKE $3.6 MILLION IN ROAD IMPROVEMENTS AROUND THE KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY RACETRACK AFTER HUGE TRAFFIC JAMS AT JULY’S SPRINT CUP RACE.

AND PRESIDENT OBAMA WELCOMES SPRINT CUP CHAMP JIMMIE JOHNSON AND LAST YEAR’S CHASE DRIVERS TO THE WHITE HOUSE NEXT WEEK TO HONOR JOHNSON’S SPRINT CUP CHAMPIONSHIP AND RECOGNIZE NASCAR’S COMMITTMENT TO COMMUNITY SERVICE.
