As students prepare to leave for their first year of college, some worry about the weight gain that can come along with it.

Going to college means leaving your parents, new friends and, for some, the dreaded first semester weight gain.

New York dietitian Tanya Zuckerbrot told foxnews.com that there are ways for students to survive freshman year WITHOUT the so-called “Freshman 15.”  She recommends always eating breakfast, avoiding fried foods at the cafeteria and – most importantly – keep late night snacks light by choosing popcorn or trail mix instead of pizza and wings.  Your waistline will thank you.
