Housecall for Health: Sleep Apnea
A common sleeping disorder could cause you more harm than just restless nights.
FOX’s Karlie Pouliot reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”…
Older women with sleep apnea are almost twice as likely to develop dementia, compared to women who do not suffer from the common disorder.
According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the findings indicate that people who exhibit cognitive problems should be “followed closely” and possibly treated for sleep apnea. This chronic disorder, in which people momentarily stop breathing while sleeping, is also linked to high blood pressure and cholesterol.
