FOX in the Fast Lane: Taking a Breather

The Sprint Cup is on a break, Kyle Busch hits the century mark, and a new track is in NASCAR’s future.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh has this off-week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”…

WHILE THE NATIONWIDE AND CAMPING WORLD SERIES HAVE RACES THIS WEEK…THE SPRINT CUP IS OFF, AND RYAN NEWMAN IS HAPPY FOR THE SHORT BREAK…

“DOING WHAT WE DO MAN, YOU’LL TAKE A WEEK OFF ANYTIME YOU CAN GET IT. THIS IS A DEMANDING SPORT.”

KYLE BUSCH MAKES HISTORY, NOW ONLY THE THIRD NASCAR DRIVER TO WIN ONE HUNDRED RACES.  BUSCH MARKING THE MILESTONE AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY IN A NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE.  SO WHAT’S THE NEXT CHALLENGE FOR BUSCH?

“I’VE GOT A SPONSOR ANYTIME I WANT TO GO TO INDY CAR BUT YOU KNOW WE’LL SEE IF THAT HAPPENS. I’D RATHER WIN A CUP CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST.”

AND A NEW NASCAR TRACK IN MISSOURI?  DEVELOPERS ARE ONE STEP CLOSER AFTER GETTING A PERMIT FROM THE THE TANEY PLANNING COMMISSION  FOR A NASCAR-STYLE TRACK ON 800 ACRES SOUTH OF THE TOWN OF HOLLISTER.  BUT  THE  PERMIT COMES WITH STRICT CONDITIONS INCLUDING MAKING  UPGRADES TO HANDLE THE INCREASED TRAFFIC AND FINISHING ALL INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS BEFORE TRACK CONSTRUCTION STARTS.
