Taylor Swift’s politically-charged post sparks a surge of voter registrations.
FOX’s Krystin Goodwin explains:
Following Taylor Swift’s rare Instagram post encouraging her 112 million followers to register to vote, reps for Vote.org say they were “up to 65,000 registrations in a single 24-hour period.” Also jumping in the singer’s home state of Tennessee.
Reps say in the last 36 hours, they’ve seen over 2,000 registrations in the state… up from over 2,800 for the entire month of September.
Swift broke her silence on politics Sunday, explaining she will not support Republican representative Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s Senate race because, “her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me.”
Instead, throwing her support behind Blackburn’s Democratic opponent Phil Bredesen and Democratic representative Jim Cooper.
