The social network trying to fight fake news, now rating users credibility, according to a report in the Washington Post, which says the system was developed over the past year.
Facebook has relied on users to report problems with content, but product manager Tessa Lyons, says it’s not uncommon for someone to falsely report an item as being untrue because they disagree with the story or cause they want to target someone… Now some of those frequent flaggers will themselves be monitored.
Lyons saying the rating on scale from zero to one, is just one measurement among thousands of behavioral clues Facebook takes into account as it tries to ferret out threats.
