Housecall for Health: Busy ERs

Emergency rooms are keeping busy.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon explains why that could be a problem that affects YOU in today’s “Housecall for Health”…

Heading to the emergency room in an ambulance could cost you your life instead of saving it.

The National Center for Health Statistics reports that each minute, one ambulance is diverted away from the nearest hospital in the U.S. because of an overcrowded E.R.  Experts say that both financial problems at hospitals and patients not being able to find primary care add to E.R. congestion.  The study suggests asking your local hospital about its doing about diversion and overcrowding.
