Bill Richardson, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former New Mexico Governor, spoke with Brian Kilmeade about North Korea’s gamesmanship trying to get leverage before the upcoming summit. Richardson said it was a mistake for President Trump’s National Security Adviser John Bolton bringing up the “Libya Model” when discussing parameters for North Korean nuclear disarmament. Richardson has been impressed with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s work on bringing Kim Jong-un to the table and went on to say President Trump should let him take the lead on the negotiations with North Korea. The key to a successful agreement with North Korea, according to Richardson, is strong verification of North Korean denuclearization. Richardson says people should expect this to take two to three years and not happen after one meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong-un.
