Matt Kenseth leaves it late at Monster Mile, but wins the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover.
Kenseth took over in the final 30 laps after a well-timed two-tire change, followed by Mark Martin, Marcos Ambrose, Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers in the Top 5.
But the race was largely a heated battle between the standings leaders, with Jimmie Johnson starting at the pole and dominating early. The #48 Lowe’s Chevrolet led 207 laps in all, but finishes 9th and loses a point to Carl Edwards, who capped his weekend by leading 117 laps and finishing 7th after winning Saturday night’s Nationwide race. Edwards’ lead atop the Cup standings increases to 24 points.
Next week, it’s party time with All-Star Weekend in Charlotte. Be sure to log on to foxnewsradio.com on Friday, as FOX News Radio’s Marghiee “Trackside” Teshineh previews the festivities and brings you all the latest NASCAR news.
