The Importance of Having a Vacation with Your Significant Other
By FOX’s Ashley Papa:
Studies show that couples who travel together stay together… Why?
Dean Sullivan, VP of sales and marketing at Couples Resort Jamaica says it’s because taking trips together allows two people to build upon or rekindle their love:
(Sullivan) “Those of us that are in these moments of life we always try to establish that time for date night but you need to do more than date night. You need to get away from the stresses of everyday life and really focus on each other and be in an environment that brings love to the forefront.”
Sullivan says experiencing new things, de-stressing and having that desire to be together helps strengthen those bonds of love… This couples-only travel time is especially crucial for parents:
(Sullivan) “Certainly mom and dad who may be sort of beleaguered with little league baseball practice and ballet and all the other things that come with the joy of raising children need to take that time away for themselves.”
Whether it’s an all-out beach vacation or bed and breakfast weekend, taking this time together may help to strength your relationship, regardless of what stage you’re in.
