Obesity May Cause Cancer in Middle Aged People

Federal health officials say more middle aged people are getting cancer relating to being too overweight.

    FOX News’ Eben Brown reports:

Rates of cancer in the United States have been on the decline, but the most frequent instances of cancer have been those associated with people being too fat for too long:

(Dr. Richardson) “We found cancers associated with overweight and obesity went up in all age groups except people aged 75 or older.”

Doctor Lisa Richardson with the centers for disease control. These would be cancers not just of the gastro-intestinal tract, but also in the spine and the reproductive organs. Colo-rectal cancer rates are down, though the CDC attributes that to more people seeking screening.
