Powerball Winner Comes Forward, Says Winning Numbers were Family Members Birthdays

A Massachusetts woman says she’s retiring thanks to a few hundred million dollars.

    FOX’s Gurnal Scott reports:

Six numbers have changed Mavis Wanczyk’s life. She won the $758 million Powerball Jackpot and has opted to take home a lump sum, after taxes, of about $336 million. She said she picked numbers using birthdays, as for the Powerball, a regular outing with family and friends provided the key:

(Wanczyk) “We all go out to dinner on a Friday night and we all play KENO and our number is four.”

She hasn’t said what she’ll do with the money yet, but she did tell the Springfield, Massachusetts hospital she worked for that she won’t be back.
