Senate Republican Health Care Bill in Limbo
President Trump, in a tweet, says he can’t imagine Congress would dare leave without a “beautiful new health care bill.”
FOX’s Jared Halpern has the state of play on Capitol Hill:
A draft proposal introduced by Senate Republican leaders last month appears dead. Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy tells FOX News:
(Cassidy) “The original version, ten folks opposing, it’s not gonna pass.”
Other Senate Republicans are expressing doubt as well, though White House chief of Staff Reince Preibus says the President expects a repeal and replace measure to reach his desk:
(Preibus) “Whether it be before August recess or during August recess, the President expects the Senate to fulfill the promises it made to the American people.”
Senate Republicans can afford no more than two GOP no votes to pass a bill without Democrats.
On Capitol Hill, Jared Halpern, FOX News.
I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!
