Florida Tax Collector Allowing Employees to Carry Firearms
A tax collector in Florida will now allow his employees to carry firearms on the job.
FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:
Seminole County, Florida’s Tax Collector is telling his employees the may openly carry a sidearm while they work.
Joel Greenberg says his employees are ‘revenue officers’ and therefore exempt from a state law preventing them from carrying a gun while performing their duties, either handling licensing or vehicle registrations, or visiting properties for tax assessment.
Nobody would be forced to carry, says Greenberg, but the policy will save his office about $350,000 each year currently spent hiring security professionals.
