American Women are Opting to Wait Longer to Have Kids

More American women are waiting longer to have children.

FOX’s Lisa Lacerra reports:

For the first time in nearly three decades, women in their early 30’s are having more babies than younger women, that’s according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The preliminary numbers for 2016 show the birth rate for women 30-to-34 was about 103 per 100,000. For women 25 to-29, 102 per 100,000. And more teens are growing up with fewer of their peers getting pregnant.

The study also finding the overall birth rate was down slightly in 2016 to 62 births per 100,000 women ages 15-to-44 and the average age women have their first child is about 28.
