Senate Intelligence Committee’s Calling on Comey to Appear in Sessions

The former FBI director who may have taken notes detailing pressure from the President to close down an investigation of the former National Security Adviser, has an invite from a key Congressional committee.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

Former FBI director James Comey has now been asked in a letter from the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee to appear in both open and closed sessions:

(Schiff) “And we ought to begin immediately by getting those memorandum if they exist as well as bring in the director and see what follows from there.”

House Intelligence Committee Democrat Adam Schiff also wants Comey to testify. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he won’t micromanage the committees already looking into all things Russia:

(Ryan) “We can’t deal with speculation and innuendo and there’s clearly a lot of politics being played.”

Ryan says there’s no need for an additional panel or special prosecutor.
