Congress Briefed on North Korea

Nearly every member of Congress is hearing about the North Korean threat from top Trump administration officials.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

U.S. Senators boarded a pair of coach buses for the mile and a half ride from here to the White House for a rare briefing from the Secretaries of State and Defense, the Intelligence Director and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:

(Cruz) “North Korea is the most dangerous spot on the planet right now.”

Texas Republican Ted Cruz after that classified briefing…

House members were invited to a separate briefing on the Hill.

A joint statement from Secretaries Rex Tillerson and Jim Mattis and Intelligence Director Dan Coats says the President’s aim is to pressure North Korea by tightening economic sanctions and pursuing diplomatic measures with allies and regional partners.
