Authorities are crediting the use of an app to find dozens of stolen cell phones at Coachella.
FOX’s Anna Eliopoulos reports:
The first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival closed with hundreds of people claiming their iPhones had been stolen.
This concertgoer says her friends were victims:
(Woman) “They got pick-pocketed for sure, all at the same time, cause we were walking holding hands and we were so squished that it would have been easy to put their hand into a purse or something real fast.”
But thanks to technology, many of them got their phones back. By using the ‘Find My iPhone’ app, authorities were led to 36-year-old Reinaldo de Jesus Henao of New York, who had over a hundred iPhones in a single backpack.
There is still one more weekend to go and authorities are urging visitors to be vigilant and stay safe.
